Abstract: The Teacher Still Decides is a practical, open access guide for college and university teachers navigating artificial intelligence in their daily work. Across ten brief chapters, it addresses planning, teaching materials, large classes, assessment, feedback, student AI use, professional growth, and research ethics. Each chapter offers a simple framework, a worked example from an Indian higher education context, and one zero-cost action teachers can attempt immediately. Built on the AI Interaction Knowledge framework and the institutionally implemented C²E assessment model, the guide argues that AI may draft, suggest and assist, but judgement, integrity and every decision remain with the teacher.
Description: A practical open access guide showing higher education teachers how to use AI for planning, teaching, assessment, feedback and research without surrendering professional judgement. Ten short chapters, each with a simple framework, a worked example and one zero-cost weekly action. The companion volume to AI in the Classroom Before the Classroom.
