| dc.description.abstract | The present study yielded three major findings: First, mindfulness and psychological well-being are significantly and positively correlated among college students. A Pearson correlation of r = .445 (p < .001) confirmed that students who demonstrate higher dispositional mindfulness also report significantly higher levels of psychological well-being. This finding is robust, statistically significant, and consistent with the prevailing literature, lending empirical support to the role of mindfulness as a psychological resource that promotes positive mental health outcomes. Second, there is no statistically significant gender difference in mindfulness levels among college students. Both male and female participants reported comparable levels of dispositional mindfulness, with slightly higher scores observed among females (M = 37.30 vs. M = 35.39), but this difference did not reach statistical significance (p = .221). This suggests that mindfulness as a present-moment attentional capacity is similarly distributed across genders in the college-going population. Third, there is a statistically significant gender difference in psychological well-being, with female students reporting significantly higher PWB than males (p = .016). These finding highlights that while mindfulness is gender-neutral, the overall experience of psychological well-being differs between male and female college students, with females demonstrating greater positive psychological functioning. | en_US |
