| Abstract: | Technology isavailableinabundancethesedaysandithaspresentededucationalfield with the latest innovative techniques and tools of teaching andlearningwhichcando wonders if utilized appropriately. MOOCistheoneofthemodernmethodoflearning and getting education which provides free, easily accessible, completely online courses, which offer one the opportunity to study with top universities around the world. The present study is related to development of an e-learning module and the impact of e-learning module in educational technologywas also studied during the study. It was mainly focused on the development of one e-learning module for massive open online course by the investigator. Investigator developed an e-learning moduleonbasicsofeducationaltechnologybyusinganonlineMoodlecloudwebsite. She developed video tutorials, quizzes, assignments and discussion forums on the basis of four quadrant approach. After development, it was successfully launchedfor a limited number of teacher trainees. For the course enrollment anddatacollection,a sample of 50 teacher trainees from M. Ed. programme was selected for the study. Secondly, 10 teacher trainees were also interviewed for the qualitative validation of the data throughinterviews. Theywereenrolledinthecoursedevelopedforthestudy and a teacher made test was given before and after the completion of the course. During the present study, investigator developed a small private onlinecourseduring her study and delivereditonlinetoasmallgroupandforasmallerdurationoftimeas compared to actual MOOCs due to time constraints. 90%ofthe50participantscould complete the pre-test so they were allowed to complete the course while 10% participants were dropped out at initial stage of the course. The e-learning module developed in the coursewasfoundtobeeffectiveonteachermadetest.Therefore,the impact of e-learning module on teacher trainees has been found to be positive and during interaction, teacher trainees have agreed that e-learning module are important part of MOOCs and cost effectiveness, job opportunity, knowledge of ICT skills and internet are important factors in MOOCs. The results obtained from the students’ interviewswereconsistentwiththeresultsfromquantitativeanalysis. |
